Re: First time user, help me plan the setup (QNAP TS-453D)
Greetings,
I am new to this forum... just purchased QNAS TS-453D and two (2) WD 10TB NAS Red (WD101EFBX-68B0AN0) HDD's (I checked compatibility before purchasing) for home business. Set up equipment as instructed, turned on, downloaded Qfinder Pro. Software found equipment, double clicked and it brought me to "Start Smart Installation" web page. Clicked "Check for Update" and "Next" to continue. This is where problems begin:
I repeatedly get a message reading "Hard Drive Missing" with "Install and format at least one hard drive before using the NAS..." I have tried everything to get past this issue to include the following:
--Restarting NAS with HDD's (several times)
--Restarting without HDD's then inserting them (several times)
--Initializing the HDD's thru USB on desktop
--Formatting the HDD's thru USB on desktop
The drives are working properly. I even formatted a compatible Seagate HDD and tried it without success (same message). I cannot get past the "Specify Firmware Version" page.
Humbly I ask if anyone can help. Thanks
