Evening all, after years of waiting I got a 453Be last Summer & added 3 drives. Live been complex since and unit has been on and running but not really used.
Went to upgrade my 2gb to 8gb today thinking it would be straightforward.
Fitted the memory (new Crucial branded) rebooted and no LED's on the front panel. Fan goes round at the back and the 10Gb card has green LEDS on.
So power is getting there but but no boot as such. Qfinder does not see it either, only my old 410 that was to be migrated from.
Any ideas guys? Can see no loose leads or suchlike.
I have tried refit the original memory stick but no joy.
Waited years to be able get this unit and not got a clue were to start with fault finding. What a pain.
Many thanks in advance.

Did you ground yourself properly ? .. You might have fallen victim to ESD

Open a ticket with QNAP and maybe omit your RAM 'stunt' so they won't refuse warranty

Did you get the correct DDR3L-1600 RAM?

Did you buy RAM from reputable source to avoid counterfeit RAM?
We’re you installing two 4gb sticks or one 8gb stick? Specs are two 4gb sticks.

Yes that's the modules Elvis, two 4GB's and exactly the spec on the link.
They have been sitting here a while but in the normal memory plastic cartons and well wrapped.
I did wander if they were good but when the old unit replaced, still the same problem
