Hi all,
Just got me a TVs-473!
Very excited to get started. I have 3 disks installed
2x 4TB WD
1x 6TB WD
I can format these at will, but I am wondering if/how I can add a 4TB disk that I have currently so that I can use RAID 10, or equivalent, This disk does have data on it, so I am wondering if there is a way that I can preserve this while later adding it as a forth disk?
thanks!

All disks will be formatted to be used in the NAS, so do NOT insert disks with preservable data on it.
Also only use NAS rated drives and do not insert disks with SMR technology (like certain WD Red models)
For a 4 disk NAS, a RAID5 across 4 disks makes most sense and don't forget regular external backups

Thanks for the advice. Man it was fun trying to find a cheap cloud provider to upload 4TB for a few days.
So you don't think RAID10 is worth it? I did confirm all my WD drives are compatible.

does not need to be a cheap cloud provider .. what about a 4/6/8/10/12/14TB USB disk ?
RAID10 is only worth it on lots of random IO, otherwise RAID5 (single parity) and RAID6 (dual parity) is safer and faster
