How to Hide Popup Notifications [SOLVED]

Device: QNAP TS-453D
OS: QTS v 4.5.4.1741

Each time i login i get popup notifications (toasts?) at the bottom right of my screen. A couple remain fixed in place during my entire QTS experience.



I do not want to adjust my settings to accommodate those messages. Instead i want to hide those notifications, all popup notifications, permanently. After all, there is a notification icon at the top of the screen if I want to see anything. So how do i go about hiding those annoying popup notifications?

STEP 1

Install uBlock Origin for Chrome or Firefox

STEP 2

Once the extension is installed, navigate to your NAS' QTS webpage (ie. http://192.168.1.2:8080). Now click the uBlock icon in your browser's extension bar to reveal its options. Click the Settings / Dashboard gear icon.




STEP 3

Navigate to "My Filters"
Within the large white edit box add the following:

Code: Select all

! 2021-08-07 http://192.168.1.2:8080
192.168.1.2##.q-msg-box

** Make sure to change "192.168.1.2" to your Qnap's actual LAN address.



STEP 4

Click the "Apply Changes" button at the top left.

Now when u go to refresh / login to QTS those damn annoying pop up notification will be permanently hidden. If you want to see notifications within QTS just look up at the top right notification icon.

I use the "Enter element picker mode" of uBlock to specifically block the two introduced annoying popups. Others might be of interest to me, like available app updates (I have disabled auto update).
