Post by qnabber »

Hi, my first post here.
Is it possible to power on without any HDD;s in the bays?

Drive here is interchangeable with SSD, as this model has 4 M2 SATA SSD slots.

Without any drives in the NAS (no matter if HDD or SSD) it will not work

OK, thanks. I mounted only the SSD;s in the M2 slots. But didn't get the HS to startup, or even any green led when trying to power on. So without any HDD;S or SSD;s in the other bays it will not work at all.

So you say you put m2 SSD's in the NAS .. that's all you have to do .. there is no room for anything else .. please elaborate

Hi, sorry for delay. Well I put my M2.ssd; in the M2 slots mounted with thermal padders by the book. However, when I push the power on button, nothing happens. Not even any green led lamp. :(

Then either your NAS or your power supply could be DOA...Power will come on with or without any drives inserted.

Talk to your reseller about a swap

Ok, thanks! I removed my SSD;s and the green powerled lit up. It seems that my 1TB Samsungs 980 Pro, PCIe 4.0 NVMe M2, do not work with the the HS-453-4G.
Dang :(
