Suggestions for a 4-bay rackmount

Post by Felix1 »

Hi all,

I'm building a new house and will have a cabinet to put all my gear in as well as house a patch panel for a number of cat 6 connections.

I need to upgrade my TS410 and am looking at buying a rack mount 4 bay unit.

Any suggestions for model?

What do you intend on doing with the NAS? How many devices are you expecting to feed? Why restrict yourself to a four bay unit? I would seriously investigate the difference in pricing for 4 bay, 6 bay or 8 bay units.

Here is a link to QNAP 4 Bay Rackmount NAS's available: https://www.qnap.com/en/product/?conditions=0-4

You should also give consideration to some sort of UPS. Please remember to always check out the Compatibility List at https://www.qnap.com/en-au/compatibility/ pay specific attention to your HDD's. You will need NAS rated HDD's, the desktop computer HDD's are no good.
