Best 2-Bay NAS 2021

I have a friend looking to purchase a 2-bay NAS primarily for storing/serving music files and other data.

QNAP have several such 2-Bay devices but I note that they keep including lots of functionality, tools and apps which makes for a bewildering array of options!

What are the pros and cons of let us say the entry level TS-230 vs the TS-251D?

251D = x64

So depending if your buddy needs virtual machines, full container range and video transcoding in (e.g.) Plex .. the decision could be full x64 or limited ARM
