For those that changed the PSU, what 20pin adapter did you use for the SATA board?

I bought an all black 20-pin on eBay. Cut it, soldered it.

This issue will not be solved with the firmware update. The only solution for this is to update the BIOS. Please raise a ticket with QNAP Support and refer them to this post viewtopic.php?f=318&t=144124

Also, Make sure when you raise the ticket to indicate your qnap model, and the CPU Generation. I did the same but QNAP Support sent me the BIOS Update for the TVS-682 with 7th Gen CPU and my CPU is 6th Gen. Now I am still waiting for them to send the correct one. This was on Sep. 29, 2018 and until now nothing.

Good luck.

A question for Corsair H5 SF owners ...

I recently picked up a TVS-882 i3 and am looking into upgrading the CPU and cooler. Can anyone using the Corsair H5 SF confirm if it will fit on top of my RAM modules if they have heatsinks on them? Any photos I have come across of installations appear to be a very tight fit on top of the memory modules, and I've only seen any without heat sinks attached. Is there any clearance?

I have the Kingston HyperX Fury RAM with black heatsinks (HX421C14FBK4).

Thanks!
J

TVS-682-i7-6700K

How did you manage to run the System exclusively from the SSD ?
I'm using QTier (2x 860 EVO 500GB SSD + 3x 8TB IronWolf), do you know, how I can be sure that the system is running from SSD?

The system usually installs on the first HDD/SSD in the system when setting it up initially. What I did to make sure it's running off of SSDs was to set the box up with only SSDs installed. Created a 4 * SSD Raid 5, let it do it's thing and when it was done, I installed my HDDs.

I have done the opposite, I initialized the sysem with only the HDD and than months later added the SSD and enabled the QTier.
What I'm not sure is related to system drive and QTier: does Qtier move also the system drive to SSD or only the volumes created by the user?

I don't think QTier moves system stuff around.
