Hi, I really like the TS-653B specs but I want one with 8 bays. Can anyone advise if QNAP is planning on releasing a TS-853B soon? I prefer over the RS-853A due to the new processor and PCI expansion card. It seems like the TS-653B was a bit of a stealth launch.

Thanks!

Re: TS-853B coming?
What the *beep*
Have been waiting "forever" for the successor to the 853A, due to the lack of expansion port.
Have been checking
https://www.qnap.com/en/news/2017
With ever growing anticipation, waiting for the news that the 853A got a successor, but nothing has been written there.
I can only second the OP's request for this to come in an 8 bay variant and i will probably at buy a new nas to succeed the TS-420 i have right now.
So QNAP....Get your finger our and get a stretched, 8 bay version released asap

As far as I know, Qnap is not planning on releasing an 8 bay version of the TS-x53B.

Based on the TS-x53B Mini user guide, 2/4/6 bay models are it.

QNAP Systems has announced the availability of the new TS-x53B series, which is highlighted by a PCIe expansion slot for high-performing scalability and functionality that SMB and SOHO users need. Available in 2-bay, 4-bay and 6-bay models, the TS-x53B series is equipped with the 14nm Intel Celeron J3455 quad-core 1.5GHz processor, upwards of dual-channel 8GB DDR3L RAM, and SATA 6Gb/s drive support with integrated dual Gigabit LAN ports. QNAP quotes their TS-x53B series as having read and writes speeds upwards of 224MB/s during AES-NI accelerated encryption.

Connectivity includes a USB Type-C QuickAccess port, an SD memory card slot, a front USB 3.0 port with copy button, and dual HDMI output that is compatible with 4K 30Hz displays.
