Hi all,
My question - which version of QTS can a TS-453A be updated to?
Can it go all the way to the latest version? (4.3.4), or does the underlying hardware of the unit mean that's not possible? I'm thinking of buying the TS-453A simply because i have a limited budget and my data needs are relatively modest. Have looked at some of the more advanced modern models, and I just can't really justify a bigger spend. The specification of the TS-453A across multiple sellers states it ships with QTS 4.2.0.
I'm a relative newbie to QNAP (a window shopper until recently, and now wanting to take the plunge), so the info on my footer doesn't represent what i have. It represents my ideal system set up based on the research I've done to date, and is marked accordingly if i own the kit now or am planning to buy it.
I'm in the UK, and hoping to bag some Black Friday deals to make this all possible. Not in a rush and am prepared to wait, although can't hold out for ever, I'm currently backing up to an external hard drive, and have no off-site backup :0o ... I'm fairly capable technology wise and have been tinkering with PC's/laptops and general consumer tech since say 2003, and have built, re-built and refurbished quite a lot of machines for family, friends and colleagues in that time :0)
Thanks for any help anyone can offer, and please kick my ** if I'm posting this in the wrong place...

Re: Which QTS Version? (on a TS-453A)
Thanks - the page states "QTS 4.2" - does that mean it will be updatable to versions 4.2.0 through to 4.2.2?, or are they different animals so to speak? Apologies, am a complete newbie to the QNAP OS / hardware environment.

Could you send me the link to the page that you're looking at please? I can't see it on this page: https://www.qnap.com/en-uk/product/ts-4 ... s/software, so I'm probably looking in the wrong place

4.3.3 latest is stable.
4.3.4 is beta. check the forum and notes if there any issues that concerns you, if it's okay then you can use it. recommended using backup (regardless stable or beta)
