Migrating to new TS-253b

Post by Fubie »

I currently have a TS-470 Pro 4 bay.

The drives are not encrypted.

I use this NAS as media center.

1st - Can I backup my settings from my TS-470 Pro and restore them on a TS-253b?

2nd - Can I pull the 4 drives from my TS-470 Pro and plug them in the TS-253b without having to make any changes?

Thank you for any help.

normally I would say .. check system migration in the manual ..

but what config have the 4 drives been in ? .. if raid ..unclear how you want to fit 4 drives in a 2 bay unit

I'm very sorry, this is the TS-453B.

So I'm going from a 4 bay unit to a new 4 bay unit.

Hi Fubie,
Have you migrated yet? Do you mind me asking how you like the 453B? I'm getting ready to replace my 219P II and was looking at the 453B with 8GB.

Thanks

The 453B is a downgrade from a 470 Pro in many ways, but I understand why you are moving. The 470 is EOL like my 219P II next month. We'll get security updates till 2020 but that's it.
