But when it comes to other models, that has been previously announced that would be coming before summer, then late summer, then now in 2021?

This would deserve a public announcement in my opinion, especially due the marketing that has been pushed around this as well as all the responses from QNAP stuff in social media (i.e. reddit) that the QuTS hero for other devices would be available "soon" (but without ETA) until a few weeks ago.

QNAP is busy with their "next gen coffee making karaoke" super app .. as soon as that is released (and quickly discontinued) they will work on porting QuTS again.

maybe i jumped to conclussion too soon? because perhaps they meant OFFICIAl release in jan 2021.

But the public beta is still due in Q3 (or was that q4) ?

nobody likes to beta for their production nas, but still, i'm wondering if there was a change of plan for this public beta for quts hero for the OTHER models o-O; hm

Why would anybody have to beta ?

It officially came other for other devices, so the os is stable for release.

They showed last year a tvs-882 running qts hero

well thats what they said. a beta release first, then later a stable release.

they said open beta. does that mean the beta won't require a license to participate? and if not, what happens after beta is over? how does that work.

quts hero models came with it out the gate alrdy. waiting for the older models that didn't originally have quts hero, for those to get that upgrade as well (limited models only. so not everyones going to get it)

I predict a lawsuit in the near-future with DC Comics/Warner Bros as the plaintiff. ;)

I am no copyright lawyer, but maybe as long as the actual logo is not involved a blue suite with a cape (of whatever color) is not protected ? (see "the boys" on amazon)

Yup, I kept searching because I thought it would be funnier (and make the point a bit clearer) if I could find an image with that exact same pose.

usually they would have a legal department for them to consult for things like these before going ahead, at least the company i worked at did. so i assumed that they did that prior.

Don't hold your breath while waiting. They've missed deadlines before...
RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system (preferably placed at another site), you will eventually lose data!

A non-RAID configuration (including RAID 0, which isn't really RAID) with a backup on a separate media protects your data far better than any RAID-volume without backup.

All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups. It's your money and your data, spend the storage budget wisely or pay with your data!
