- I'm looking for an expansion card for my TS-453B
- I'll be getting a Ubiquiti switch that has a few SFP+
- At the same time I wanted to upgrade my NAS to try and to be ready and take advantage of this speed (I'm hoping to hook the NAS up directly into one of the SFP+ ports)
- I also connect a docking station to the NAS directly for external HDD backups via HBS
- The docking station supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps)
- I'll soon be upgrading my drives to 4x8TB WD Red Plus (WD80EFBX)
What I was hoping to find is a card that has the following:
- 2 x M.2 slots
- SFP+ port
- USB 3.1 Gen 2 port (10Gbps)
And would it be compatible with my NAS?
Would the PCIe even handle it if all were ports/devices working concurrently?
I've tried searching for a card that has all 3 of these but haven't been able to find one, or at least find any information on why (unless it is the PCIe limitations).
I guess if I could only pick 2 of the 3, then maybe I'd go for the SFP+ & USB 3.1 Gen 2 port since it will address speed on writing to and backing up from the NAS. I'm not really sure if the benefits of the M.2 are inflated/applicable in real world data-back up use cases?
I hope I've provided all the relevant information but do let me know if you require any other info.
many thanks in advance for any help with this!
