Dear all,
The last week, my TS-869U-RP died. Qnap say me that the motherboard is dead and i must change the NAS.
I'm interesting to buy a TS-1253BU with intel Celeron J3455.
Could you tell me if this processor has the LPC Bug.
Can you tell me the year of th TS-1253BU ?
What does BU mean ?
Thanks for your help.

Dolbyman, you are right!
The BU and U are different. the processor is not the same.
I plan to buy an 1253BU but, I am afraid about the LPC bug for the J3455 Celeron

Re: Replacing a QNAP TS-869U-RP
Are you planning to buy the 1253BU new or used? I'm asking because this model is EOL (no longer produced or sold as new), as indicated on its product page, in case you were not aware. It's still supported by QNAP for repair service and software updates.
About the differences between 1253U and 1253BU. My understanding is that the letter following the model number represents the generation or hardware revision if you will. So the original model is 1253U, then the next generation is 1253AU, and the generation after it is 1253BU, and so forth.
The current generation of the 1253U is the 1253DU: https://www.qnap.com/en/product/ts-1253du-rp.

Re: Replacing a QNAP TS-869U-RP
Thx dolbyman. The 853BU is equiped with a Celeron J3455, same as 1253BU.
Your link is very interesting.
We can read a lot of thing on internet.
Mousetick, I'm planning to buy the 1253BU new. How many time the 1253BU will be supported ?
Here is the difference between the 2 models :
The 1253BU : Intel® Celeron® J3455 quad-core 1.5 GHz processor (burst up to 2.3 GHz)
The 1253U : Quad-core Intel® Celeron® 2.0GHz (up to 2.42GHz)

Like I said, this model is EOL (End of Life). It is no longer manufactured nor sold. How can you buy it new?
It is 2 generations behind the current model. If there are vendors selling it as new, you should be very wary.

Re: Replacing a QNAP TS-869U-RP
I will buy it with my company.
It was a spare product but, my company doesn't use it.
My only preoccupation is the processor J3455. I would like be sure that this processor is ok.
Dolbyman say that is no problematic : https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel ... 40378.html
I'm waiting for others users that they use this model or other with the J3455

Re: Replacing a QNAP TS-869U-RP
Hopefully your company is giving you a great deal. Even though the unit might be "new in box" its warranty may be expired or close to expire by now. And according to the warranty terms, it applies only to the original purchaser.
