TS-873a Can I create a 5 disk raid array via the QTS hero ( ZFS pool )

HI , I am looking at purcasing a TS-873 @( 8 bay NAS )
I want to use just 5 of the 8 bays to what I presume is usign QTS hero create a ZFSpool .
I dont wish to expand that pool it after I have created It , I jsut want to leave the other 3 slots free as JBOD

Is this possible or do i have to used 2 , 4 ,6 or 8 disks ??

sure you can ..unclear why you would think you cannot add single disks later (say that ..not jbod as that implies spanning jbod)
