Hello everybody,

Does anyone has some information about the x53 model ? i can not find anything on this.

where do i need to place this model. is this a higher model as the x51 ?

i also see a SS-x53 model is there a release date for this model ?

i already have pre orders a ts-x51 model. but i can wait a little bit longer if it's just a couple of weeks.

Hello Danny,

TS-x53 and SS-x53 will be launched in August 2014. Yes, it's a sligthly "higher" model than the TS-x51 - the smaller models get the higher value metal enclosure, and (major differences to the TS-x51) a similar CPU like the TS-x51 (but quad core) and the full "SMB" feature firmware with the flexible volume management.

Interesting about the TS-x53... Am about to buy a 451 as soon as they come out, unfortunately I don't think I can wait for the 453, which does sound pretty good. Re the cases I can see why the metal is nicer, but on the other hand having the power supply external like the 451 makes some sense in terms of reducing heat, and therefore fan noise (I would think). If I remember correctly the 451 is quieter than its predecessor the 469Pro.
I guess it's safe to assume the 453 will cost a fair bit more?

Just want to tell you that i have orderd a TS-251. the price is right and i have it monday.

also with 2x WD RED 1TB

i going to use this for surveillance and download machine.

so the power is more then enough. now just looking for the 8gb memory. but i will keep checking this forum for the **COMPATIBLE** memory modules.

What kind of difference did upgrading the RAM make?

The TS-x51 has a limit of running only one VM at a time. Will the TS-x53 allow more than one VM?

When you say "launched" does that imply "announced" or "available"? I note there's been a bit of time passed since TS-x51 was announced and still don't see it very available in Europe and none in UK from what I can tell.
I only ask because my window for buying something will end mid-September.
Also, any idea on likely price of TS-453 vs TS-451

It implies "launched" - formal announcement and first deliveries to the distribution channel. From what I see here in Switzerland, the TS-x51 are available, depending on reseller and model immediate up to about five days most.

Any news about TS-X53?

TS-x53 Pro/SS-x53 Pro will be available worldwide at the end of August between 20...31 August (when they arrive various resellers).

1. TS-x53 Pro will have 2GB & 8GB RAM options by default.
SS-x53 Pro by default has 4GB RAM.
max is 8GB RAM total by spec.

2. we have updated Virtualization Station to allow more concurrent running VMs for the x53 Pro series. not just 1.

x53 Pro will be on sale worldwide after Aug 20. Please check with your reseller for more info and pricing.

I have just ordered a TS-253 over the weekend, and it shows shipped today, will arrive by Aug.13th. Item description says it comes with 8GB ram. I have been a Synology user for the past 5 years, first time ordering a QNAP cuz of its VM and hdmi/transcoding capability, will see how it works out.
