[Linux Station] Headless resolution
I'd like the possibility to select more resolutions when running Linux Station headless, i.e. without a HDMI cable attached. The way it is now you're stuck with 1024x768. I'd like to be able to set at least 1920x1080.

Re: [Linux Station] Headless resolution
Hi,
I did do a lot of experimenting, but since my Linux skillz are pretty limited (so far) I didn't get it functioning and instead had problems loading Unity, or VNC, whichever it was that was acting up. Not totally clear on the terminology. So a handfull of reinstalls of Linux Station later I thought I'd ask here instead.
To make this as stable as possible, I'd like the resolution to show up in the dropdown in Linux Station in QTS. Which one of these methods would be suitable then? It would also be preferable with a method with no/few additional installations.
I'm running a TS-453a with 8GB. I will primarily be accessing Linux through Xrdp.
Also, just for my understanding, would it be possible for QNAP to add more resolutions in the dropdown from the beginning, if they wanted to? Maybe with a RAM warning.

Re: [Linux Station] Headless resolution
Is it just me or was there an update that offers more resolutions? I don't have any HDMI connections in the back of the TS-453A or recall doing anything special. I have the HDMI dongle coming and wondering if it's no longer needed.

Re: [Linux Station] Headless resolution
I started using Google's Chrome Remote Desktop to log into my Linux Station. It is a very easy way to get remote access and it performs quite well and even has sound! You can get it here:

You can also set a custom resolution for this following this guide:

Cheers!

I have that as well now. Maybe they've read this thread, or they've planned to add it.ZeroFill wrote:Is it just me or was there an update that offers more resolutions? Re: [Linux Station] Headless resolution
Seems like this is a problem again with 18.04 LTS. These are the resolutions I can pick from. Would be nice to get 1600x900 and 1920x1080 back.
