[Linux Station] Installation is failure in version 1.1.893
I'm not able to install Ubuntu in Linux Station 1.1.893. Both 14.04 and 16.04 fail at 60% and 57% respectively every time when I try it now. It worked with 14.04 in the previous version (1.0.something). I've tried uninstalling Linux Station and Container Station and rebooting the NAS, but that had no effect. Any idea what the problem is?

It seems to have fixed itself now. Perhaps there was something wrong with the source for the distros.

It went 'well' too.
I have:
- uninstalled Container station,
- uninstalled Linux station,
- removed the virtual switch created while previous installation
- do a Reset Settings on Control Panel / Backup-Restore, reboot
- reenable HD Station
- and reinstall was successful. (i don't know if all steps were necessary though)
hope that Linux station will not crash again at shutdown, it's very boring to reinstall all every week

With afterthought, I think that all steps i made were not all necessary and the installation locked at 57%/60% may be caused by HD Station was disabled (not an official answer but just a guess), so i think you would try:
- uninstalled Linux station,
- removed the virtual switch created while previous installation
- reenable HD Station
- the reinstall of Linux Station

Here is the fix -
Go into HD Station > Enable Linux Station and make sure Hybrid Desktop is disabled.
After doing that, the same install that "failed" at 53% consistently, worked fine.
Why QNAP can't either take care of that themselves when you click the install, or give you a USEFUL error message is beyond me.

Re: [Linux Station] Installation is failure in version 1.1.893
Hi
I'm getting this same issue with Linuxstation 1.2.1112. I have tried everything but cannot get Ubuntu to install successfully it just fails each time.
HDStation and Virtualisation Station are both Disabled.
Virtual Switch is off.
Both Ubuntu 14 and 16 fail to install at around 53-56%. No error is given except "Installation is failure"
Can anyone please help???

Re: [Linux Station] Installation is failure in version 1.1.893
I found the installation logs under /share/CACHEDEV1_data/.qpkg/container-station/var/log/container-station/ubuntu-hd.lo and this is the specific error:
"Failed to install built-in packages: i965-va-driver, libwayland-egl1-mesa, libmysqlclient18"
Any idea what this means?

Re: [Linux Station] Installation is failure in version 1.1.893
Also on Linux Station 1.2.1112. Installation times out and fails at 51%.
When I connect the box to a monitor via HDMI, at 51% an ubuntu text login pops up, but no username/password combination works. After a few minutes, the installation seems to time out and shows the "Installation is failure" message.
Anyone got any idea what's happening here?

Same problem here. Installation stucks at 57% with Ubuntu 16.4
I've disabled the Virtualization Station and I have no trunk in network config

Hi there,
Am also having the exact same issue. Tried lots of variables including factory reset. Always stuck at 51%. Any help would be appreciated ASAP!

Re: [Linux Station] Installation is failure in version 1.1.893
Guys, I got it installed properly. In my particular case it seems that I had a static route on my router that was inadvertently blocking a network call that happens at 51% of the install. Not sure what exactly, but when I disabled static routes, the install completed successfully.
I also got word back from QNAP support, asking me to monitor RAM usage during install. That wasn't a problem for me, but it's something else to look at I suppose.

Hi,
In my case, it was the IPV6.
Be sure that the IPV6 is disabled.
