Edit Ubuntu config files from outside Linux Station?

Yes I know it's all my own fault. Tinkering around trying to get a VPN working with Ubuntu 16.04 in the Linux Station I clicked on the make VPN the default connection (or something like) before I got the VPN working.
Now I can't connect to Ubuntu to get in and fix it.
I thought I'd just go in and correct the necessary config file but I can't find where the file system is below /home which is what the Linus Station tab points to in File Station.
Any clues that anybody would care to share?
