Continuous request from IP 253.253.253.253 detected by QuFirewall

Post by touss1coup »

Since yesterday, the QuFirewall application is detecting a lot of continuous blocked requests (65 per minutes).
So I run an events capture and it recorded requests from IP address 253.253.253.253 (see attached picture) and I have no idea where theses requests come from.

I disconnected the LAN adaptater of my NAS and it still recording these requests. So it comes from internal application. I stopped Container station app but still the same.

I checked in Container station settings and there are 2 virtual adaptaters but with differents IP addresses: 10.0.3.1 and 10.0.5.1. So it seems it doesn't from there.

Does someone have an idea where these requests come from?

Thanks.

Hello,

These are multicast requests from a server installed on your Qnap (for example: MinimServer, Emby, Plex, etc.). I have already given the solution to this problem here:

Hi,

I undestrand you choose to accept all requests from 253.253.253.253 then it's not normal you get no more warning since. But how did you identify the source of these requests (Minimserver)? In my case nothing change neither in my NAS configuration neither on my private network. So I assume this is coming from an update of QuFirewall app. Maybe a bug...
