What are Hybrid Backup Sync comparison and exclusion rules ?

Postby mathieucarbou » Sun Aug 13, 2017 3:46 am

I am using Hybrid Backup Sync to sync my local shared folders to Dropbox. I am really not confident about it because the documentation is really poor. I was using rclone before, but I would like to use the QNAP tooling as much as possible.

Could you please tell me:

1. How the comparison is done ? Is it done first by size and mod. time ? Or there's a checksum comparison done at some point ?
2. Do the renames are tracked ? I.e., if a folder is moved locally, do Hybrid Backup Sync is smart enough to detect the move and trigger a remote move on Dropbox ?
3. Is there some default exclusions that are still applying even if we include hidden files ?
4. How to exclude some folders ? (i.e. .streams, .AppleDB, etc) ?

Thanks a lot!
