Time Machine disk space

Post by kevinashaw »

I have had TimeMachine running on my QNAP for several years now. I have 11TB of total space on a TS-453 Pro (which I love!).
However, it is getting full and the Storage Dashboard is reporting that TMBackup is taking up 3.94TB.
When I open up Backup Station / Time Machine / Manage Backup, I can see the .sparsebundles for our machines (all five of them) with a total allocated storage of only 1.2TB.
So, where is the extra space coming from. Or better yet, how do I clear out the extra storage?
I'm willing to wipe out the existing TM sparsebundles and have them rebuilt. But there seems to be 2.8TB of storage that is not accounted for.
Thanks.
Kevin

P.S. Does anyone have some thoughts on this issue? I'd be really glad for some help.
