Snapshot replication job taking a long time

I have a TS451 and TS453A in different locations. I'm doing a snapshot replication from the 453A to 451.

I have sufficient space on the 451 and managed to connect the 2 NAS. 453 reports it needs 7TB space for backup which the 451 has.

It has never completed the first run. It would start with 10% within minutes but stays there for hours. After 2 days it's now 13%.
WAN connection is 300mbps up (on the 453A) and 1gbps down (on the 451) My router shows that data is flowing and almost saturating my upload line at 200+mbps.

In theory based on 7TB using 200mbps transfer, it should take 10hours (hope i did this maths right)?

But after 2 days only only 3% movement, it shouldn't take that long, does it?

Both TS453A and TS451 running firmware version 4.3.4.0516

Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

I calculate 3 days.
In my view these models aren't fast enough for snapshots. Sure you need them?
Why not use RTRR between the two boxes with versioning?

It's the 3rd day now. it shows 18% lol
I'm not sure what I need really. I thought snapshots was a good idea because I thought i took up less space.

Will try out RTRR. RTRR with versioning will allow me to recover to a certain point in time?

Update: As I was creating RTRR I remembered why I didn't do it. I had to do individual folder pairs that's really taking up a lot of time as I have a lot of folders.
Am I doing it wrong? lol
