QNAP to QNAP backup suggestions

Post by holafab » Wed Aug 14, 2019 6:01 pm

I have a main TVS-871 i5 8GB RAM, with a 63TB (RAID 6) Static volume.
I'd like to use another TVS-871 Pentium 4GB RAM, with 8x 8TB drives (currently 48TB raid 6) to backup the main one. Well not all data, only some folders, as it has less space. i can format this one, has no useful data currently.

It's clear that HBS is teh way to go, right?.
Any suggestions as for the backup NAS file system, backup strategy with snapshots or verions?

I understand because main NAS is a Static Volume, true snapshoting might be out of the question? or can i have a snapshoting on the receiving end?
Thank you
2x TVS-871 - 2x TS-413P - 1x TS-453Be with SSD cache
Returned a disappointing TVS-472XT-PT thundebrolt3

Answered many times already. Please search the forum.
Read the Online Manuals and use the forum search feature before posting.

It is a recommended to use RAID and have external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
