Time Machine backups not showing in UI

Post by lbink » Tue Dec 17, 2019 6:26 am

Hi,

I use QNAP TimeMachine for making back ups if my Apple OSX machines.
I noticed that the backup bindles do not show in the web interface of Hybrid Backup Sync, but are shown when attaching to the TMBackup share using AFS.

I'm using Hybrid Backup Sync in a QNAP TS-259 (Firmware 4.2.6).
I do not use "multiple user account support" on the Backup Server Time Machine
All "apps" are up to date.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

thanks...

Hi there,

I have the same problem. I backup five Macs through TimeMachine to my QNAP NAS. Only one of the backup is visible in BackupStation/TimeMachine/ManageBackups.

Still these four others seem to be backing up properly.

Same here.

TS-419PII
Firmware 4.3.3.1161

It's been hit and miss for the past few years but it has started to get worse recently.

Sometimes a reboot fixes it, most times it doesn't.

I may log a support ticket with QNAP.

Adrian.

Did anyone get this figured out? I'm wondering if I should drop TimeMachine backups from my QNAP and use a drive connected to my router instead. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. This has worked for years but after some firmware update and/or Macos update it stopped working. Can it be a SMB problem?
Any fix to this?

If you haven't already, I suggest that you transition to TM backups over SMB instead of AFP. Apple is slowly deprecating AFP in favor of SMB. QNAP tutorial works well:
