Hello,
I have configured 2 M2 SSDs on a QM2 card as a Raid 1 and a statical volume because the there was no option for thick / thin volume during installation phase.
After that I've recognized that it is not possible to create a snapshot from that statical volume.
I am using this statical volume for VMs and Container Station.
1) What is the best way to define a daily backup routine for that statical volume ?
2) Is it possible to define a thick or thin volume type for these both M2 SSDs ? If yes how / where does it works ?
3) one VM is configured as a MS Server.
3a) What is your recommendation to schedule a daily backup for it ?
3b) Which tools do you recommend to use ?
Many thanks in advance
Best regards

Re: How to backup the M2 SSDs on QM2 card ?
1) For data, HBS3 ..the default backup program on the NAS
2) you would need to wipe the whole volume to switch from static to pool(s)
3a/b) Either backups of the VM (see VM settings) or backups of the client itself (e.g. Veeam)

and there is an option to create a thick or thin volume of both M2 SSDs on QM2 card ?
my method of configuration was:
1) selection of one PCIe M.2 SSD1 and select option "new volume"
2) select PCIe M.2 SSD1 and PCIe M.2 SSD2 and select Raid-Type "RAID 1" no Hotspare
3) SSD over-provisioning: 10% / bytes per inod: 4K
4) summary shows the typ: "statical volume"
so, there was no option to change the volume type.
Does the "statical volume" type belongs to the RAID selection "RAID 1" ?
Where is my setup mistake ?
Thanks again,

was there no option to create a pool and not a volume ?
