Re: Qsync is not enabled.
Sorry about that use of shorthand. Opening a support call with Qnap is what I should have written.

Re: Qsync is not enabled.
This has happened to a remote setup of mine too. Not used it there for a while. Every other kind of access local nas to local pc seems fine. Only an issue with QSYNC.
I have raised a ticket.

Re: Qsync is not enabled.
This turned out in my case to be caused by the QSYNC client not running the latest client software.
https://www.qnap.com/en-au/how-to/faq/ ... in-qts-4-5
However QSYNC client would not update to Qsync Client Windows 5.0.4 using the inbuilt update software as it would give the following error
I use Win 7.
However manually running the executable and restarting QSYNC updated QSYNC, and I could then edit the connection and it worked.
I raised the issue with QNAP.
YMMV

Re: Qsync is not enabled.
Response from QNAP
“After discussing this issue with our Qsync team, they inform the Qsync client tool V5.X version didn't support Windows 7 OS, but currently it will not prevent customers from manually installing the new version. See screenshot as below”
Lots of people still on win 7…
https://www.theverge.com/2021/1/6/22217 ... -analytics
The problem is that the new firmware which will be auto updated in the main, to be secure, requires current QSYNC, which will not autoupdate and break peoples’ QSYNC backups if they run Win 7.
These sorts of consequences should be brought to the attention of users before firmware upgrades at least.

Re: Qsync is not enabled.
Don't know if the problem using Windows 7 and QSync version 5.x has been solved. Appairs to work on my machine now.
I installed the QNAPQsyncClientWindows-5.0.5.0620.msi (the msi, not the exe), ignored the error message about windows version. Think the exe quits the installation?
Still the same errormessage from QSync "Qsync is not enabled".
On the QNAP I updated to the newest QSync, but now there was a new error on the server. Saying home folder is disabled:

After this was fixed QSync works on Windows 7.
