Backup between 2 NAS in different location via VPN

Post by nivaria.achinet »

Good evening, as from topic's title, I have 2 QNAP NAS in two differen location.
1 is in my office and the other is in my house.
I want do a backup from NAS OFFICE to NAS HOME via VPN (becasue I don't wont open doors for security).
It's possible?
Another question: There is a Zyxel Firewall in my office with VPN service. I don't know if it can be useful.
Thanks.

Sure, just to a site2site VPN from your one to the other office location, best to ask your IT support to set this up.

After that you just add the other NAS in HBS3 and schedule your backups (will be transparent tunnel)

Direction doesnt matter.
You need a router with VPN also at your home to create a site2site VPN.
Then a tunnel from office needs to be created. But be aware that in that case may be all users in office have access to your home LAN!
So take care about access control for your devices.
