HBS3 backup is not working anymore

My backup is not working any more, no system update on the main Qnap but possibly on the slave. What could have been changed is is the open ports on the slave system

I have a main system in my house and and a slave which is used for backup in my brothers house.
The error message is:
"Hybrid Backup Sync] Failed to complete Backup job: "EngstromNAS2". Destination NAS does not support QuDedup. Check the RTRR server connection settings and verify if HBS is updated to version 3.0 or later on the destination NAS."
...both supports QuDedup and this has been working for years!

Any ideas?

I don't know if this will be relevant, but your second NAS is running beta firmware (the correct release number is 5.0.1.2079), so bugs are quite possible.

Suggest you create a support ticket with QNAP and report this: https://service.qnap.com

yes, normally I do not like running betas but since I had this problem I tried to update it. It didn't do any differences though!

I would disagree as the versions mentioned have only been out for a few weeks/months

As mentioned, first, it would seem obvious from the error message that there is a versioning issue, and, you are running a beta so expect lots of issues.

My advice, set both system to the same (non-beta) firmware and app version and I suspect your issues will simply go away.

I had to complete the staged upgrade process to bring a TS-831X from QTS 4.3.4 to current. In following the QNAP documentation, the process had me install QTS 5.0.1.2079 through the download link. At the time I did not realize the version was Beta. The issue I'm running into is when I try to enable RTRR in the HBS 3 app, I get an error: Failed Unexpected Error and the service fails to start.
I'm going to attempt a downgrade to 5.0.0.2055 (which I think this is the latest stable version at this time) and try again.
Any other suggestions?

OK, now I have downgrade to 5.0.0.2131 build 20220815 (I was running a 5.0.0 version before, that's why it had been running for a long time without issues)

Main system:

...and the error remains!

What versions of HBS3 are on each system?

I am experiencing the same errors. I have a TS453A as primary and TS-251D as slave. I am running the same versions of the operating system and HBS 3 version

Yeah, there's definitely something up with either HBS3 20.0.0706 or QTS 5.0.0.2131; HBS3 Real-Time sync no longer updates in RT once the initial sync is done. Ticket filed.

I upgraded the destination box first, and RT sync continued to work- a few days later I'd upgraded the source box and lost RT update, so it's apparently something in the upgrade.
