[SOLVED] [TS-210] [4.2.6] Time Machine not working anymore - Ventura 13.1

Post by d82k »

Dear all,

I updated my iMac to Ventura 13.1 and now the Time Machine on my QNAP is not detected anymore.
I have tried to reboot/enable/disable, I also removed it and cannot add it again.
Also on the "Backup Station > Time Machine > Time Machine Support" I disable and enable again the service but nothing change, except in the tab "Manage Backup" the two files I had disappeared.

Details:
  • QNAP TS-210
  • 4.2.6 Build 20221028
Any ideas please?
Kind regards,
dk

SOLVED:

Finder > Network
"command + k" use the link afp://TimeMachine@<QNAP_IP_ADDRESS>/TMBackup and mount the drive

System Settings > General > Time Machine
the qnap now appears

i resolve the problem
i think the domain wasn't the same on the NAS and the Mac.
No need smb just AFP is good to work with time machine Ventura
To change the Domain on Mac go to the system pref and network / detail and WINS

afp was dropped in big sur. enabling TM in the nas automatically enables AFP. your method works. my first experience with ventura was an upgrade from catalina. everything was fine with TMBackup enabled on TS-212P. Then i installed Ventura fresh and started getting error messages about credentials.
