HEIC files differ after using rsync

I just started using rsync from the Mac terminal app to back up my portfolio of images. After I complete an rysnc I do a diff to make sure all files are copied. It appears that every one of my iPhone images they have a suffix of HEIC returns a difference

Here is one of many: "Files /Volumes/Samsung_T5/LRPhotos-T5/2023/2023-02-15/._IMG_6349.HEIC and /Volumes/QNAP-USB-2/LRPhotos-T5/2023/2023-02-15/._IMG_6349.HEIC differ"

I rerun the rsync and the same thing happens. I can access the file and it works but I'm hesitant to trust the copy.

Anyone have any suggestions?
