I have a TS-453A and have been backing up to an external Seagate drive for years. The incremental backup always only took a few minutes to back up an incremental set of changed files (2 GB of incremental files took a few minutes).
After one of the recent firmware updates, I noticed that a 2 or 3 GB incremental back up now took over 40 minutes. So, I got a new Seagate drive and tested it. It consistently takes over 40 minutes to back up 2-3 GB of incremental files.
Does anyone else have this issue? If so, what can be done?

Re: External back up taking forever
I have the 453 Pro and noticed their latest firmware suddenly has issues backing up to external drive. It turns out my 453 was recopying all files, even if they existed. In the past it would skip over the existing files. I opened a ticket and Qnap confirmed the firmware bug. I downgraded the firmware to February 2017 and everything is working properly. So I wont update firmware until they squish that bug.
