netbak replicator freezing at 51%

I have just installed the latest SW version of NBR for my QNAP.
Until now my 8GB back up job has run fine everyday for the last 2 years.
Now it stops at 51% and freezes.
I have changed what I am backing up so that at 51% the file will be different, but sure enough at 51% NBR stops and sits there stating "syncing files".

I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no success.

I also have recently had this problem but freezing at 28%.
I've removed some other backup software and reinstalled NR in case of conflict but it still freezes.
Any help would be welcome.
