We have 2 qnap units (TS-459 Pro+) and (TS-469 Pro)
We are looking to have them at 2 locations
and want them to sync both ways, so both locations can open files and save, then the latest version is saved on both.
Is this possible? and has anyone had good/ bad experiences,
What is the best sync method? and do you need to have fixed IP addresses or can it be done on a standard BT contract?
Also is this method safe, do we need to install any extra antivirus software?
Thanks in advance

What happens when a file is updated in both sides?

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

If you use Q sync you can decide which file take precedence.
I do a similar thing on specific folders but use Resilio sync on static IP's.
Ports that need to be open are then specified on the firewall to only allow port access from those specific ip's.
Less access is defiantly more.
All down to your site2site bandwidth and file types really.
Does require some diligence with people with access as well.
