Dear forum members,
Searched the whole internet for a solution … but no succes :’(
When I run HBS 3 Hybrid Backup Sync I get the following error message:
“Failed to complete Sync job:. Bad job parameters. Check job settings. Error code: -22”.
I never had problems with the previous version HBS2
On the extern device I have 3 maps (A, B and C) containing data and photo’s.
When I run HBS 3 on map C, there is no problem. I create a sync job wit no special rules. The only thing that is marked is “Exclude system-generated temp files”.
If I try to run it on the other 2 maps I get the error message.
NAS is a TS-453A and the extern device is a WD40EFRX Red Nasware 3.0 4TB. Checked on the compatibility list on the QNAP site and this NAS hard drive disk is on their list.
What I already tried and had no succes:
- formatted the 4TB to exFat on a Win pc
- same on a Mac
- a full format on the NAS (TS-453A) via “Storage & Snapshots” / “External Storage” / “Device” / “Full Disk Format”.
- Different rules when creating a sync job
- Uninstalled HBS3, restarted the NAS, installed a new HBS3
Is there someone who had the same experience?
Is there a way to solve this problem?
Kindest regards.
Jef

What is a "map"? A folder?
What is the difference between the 3 "maps"? The content? Size? Number of files?
Are they actually named A, B and C or something else?
Please contact Qnap support. Only they know what their cryptic error codes mean.Is there a way to solve this problem?
RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system (preferably placed at another site), you will eventually lose data!
A non-RAID configuration (including RAID 0, which isn't really RAID) with a backup on a separate media protects your data far better than any RAID-volume without backup.
All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups. It's your money and your data, spend the storage budget wisely or pay with your data!

Thnx P3R for your fast reply>
It are 3 folders containing subfolders. It is filled with data (docs. pdf, mov, mp4, photo's).
I'll put a printscreen in the attachment.

ok ..here's the follow up.
seemed to be an USB port that is not working well.
Also if I used another port. Still the same.
The advice --> buy a new NAS, which I did.
Will arrive today ... hope thiings go well now.
Thanks to the person(s) who reacted (y)

Re: HBS3 and error code -22 on a TS-453A
I encountered similar error when I use an USB3.0 external harddisk case. The problem disappeared when I use an USB2.0 case.
Edit: The above is for my TS-253Pro. For my TS-453B Mini, both USB2.0 and USB3.0 cases are okay.
