Hybrid Backup and Backblaze

Post by MacConin »

Out of the blue connections to backblaze are no mor possible.

The Backup just issues a popup with network error.

Digging into the log files I found that
QNAP Hybrid backup tries a connection on

Code: Select all

... https://api.backblazeb2.com/b2api/v1/b2_authorize_account
If I do that manually, I'll get a

Code: Select all

OpenSSL: error:1408F10B:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:wrong version number
Unable to establish SSL connection.
We tried to delete the packages and reinstalled fresh from scratch.
Trying to establish a new profile for Backblaze also fails due to the above mentioned error.

Backblaze claims that there (on their side) no changes have been made.

Any ideas are really appreciated.

TS 439 Pro II+ running 4.2.6 latest
HybridBackup Build = 20180327 . Version = 1.3.180327
CloudBackupSync Build = 20180316 . Version = 1.3.556
connected via a fritz 7490 . all ports enabled

just wondering is SSL3 is not supported any longer and has been updated to support TLS instead.

the error points to openssl versioning.

not sure if there any anything you cna do with a very old HBS (latest in your NAS however)

you could trying using rclone (rclone.org) I guess though this is done via commandline and would need to be run via crontab I guess.

you could try asking QNAP to look into this but tbh I doubt much would happen with old NAS software.

I see there is a rclone qpkg here: https://www.qnapclub.eu/en/qpkg/330

Hybrid Backup and Backblaze

There was an update for old versions of Backup Sync just a few hours ago, because of the security issue. Yes, for legacy versions as well. Maybe you want to check if that’s for yours as well.
