Hi,
I have read the manual and looked at the Youtube but still a bit unsure as I have not done it before and I don't want to lose any data I already have on the ext drive.
It is a 4TB with 2.5TB free.
I have it connected to the front NAS TS451A and it shows in admin Storage & Snapshots all good to go.
If I choose to go to EXFat, will I lose any info already ion the drive and will it's use be the same on other PCs who use that ext drive?
The NAS drive has less that 1TB that I want saved to a folder I have created in the ext drive.
What is the best option to do this. Using File Station and just drag everything over to ext drive, use the Win Explorer tree and drag or is there a better way in NAS admin.
There is no schedule, just want to back all it up in case of future problems.
Thanks
oz

Re: Help to Back Up NAS drive to ext NTFS drive
Whilst waiting for an answer I decided to drag drop within Win 10x64 Explorer via the LAN.
When this is done I will explore how to do a backup every night but only this files that have changed or been added. I would still like the ones that have been deleted to still be on the copy, so no total sync.
Any help on this option please?
Thanks

if you chose exFAT you will have to buy a license, if your backup is larger than the free space on the drive, it will error

Re: Help to Back Up NAS drive to ext NTFS drive
Thank you.
Yes I don't mind paying and the back up is definitely smaller than the free space on the xtn drive.
My main concern was if I do change it to exFAT, I still have PC access.

exFAT is included Windows since Vista...so your Windows PC will still have access
