Hello,
This is probably a simple and silly question, but drive #2 is periodically making a weird clicking/seek noise. I have 2 x TR-004 (Raid 10) units populated both with 4x8TB drives, all the same. My other unit makes no such noises so I wanted to pre-emptively replace drive #2. These units are not attached to any NAS device, only my PC.
Even though it's still working, should I remove drive #2 while the unit is on and then replace it or should I power down the unit and then replace it? This will be my first time rebuilding a RAID so I'm a little worried!
Once I've replaced the drive with the new one, and for whatever reason, could I theoretically still put the noisy drive #2 back in the unit and will it be functional or will it rebuild again?

Always swap drives hot (while on)..
I don't know what the TR reaction to an old de-synced member drive is , they have a limited hardware RAID basically a black box
