I have a working TS-421 with 4 non-NAS 2TB drives of which 3 have failed/replaced over the past 3+ years. QN AP support have suggested replacing the 4 drives.
I have purchased 4 new Iron Wolf NAS 2TB drives and I want to re-create the current QTS environment in the simplest way.
I have 2 on-site backups on external hard drives created/maintained with HBS, and a Cloud backup as well using iDrive.
My configuration is RAID 10. My QTS is 4.3.3 1624.
My question is; can I power down, pull & replace the 4 drives, power up with the same settings (??) and then do a full restore from the external backup?
Or must I redo my configuration because QTS will not retain the existing setup. Or perhaps I can restore the settings from a backup?
I'm not a novice systems user so I can follow instructions. (:> Just looking for advice from experienced users.

no everything is on the drives, you pull them and all is gone
just insert new drives and setup your NAS from scratch
