Hey team,
New to Qnap. Few weeks ago, due to lightning my NetGear NAS main board fail. However my two HDD are good. So I bought TS-437A and when I try to plug my netgear HDD, it is asking me to create new volume, at the end it's saying that it will wipe out all data from my HDD which i don't want to.
I tried to do backup to my USB drive but I can't even install any App, it says unable to install.
I am not that techieee but how do I recover my NAS drive data to my USB. It's only 2TB data.
Firmware: 4.5.4.1741
TS-473A-8G
Any help greatly appreciated.

the QNAP will format all foreign drives .. so you cannot use that
check with a data recovery specialist on how to recover NetGear NAS drives (or check a Netgear NAS forum)

I have no idea how netgear formats their drives..hence the advice to check with a netgear forum
Getting to QNAP drives outside of a QNAP is no easy either..they use an LVM layer that requires knowlage on how to do it.
As a lession for the future..ALWAYS have external backups of your data (a RAID is not a backup)
