http file naming and extensions

Hi,

I'm running into some issues with download station. I'm using put.io to download files and i would like to download them directory to my qnap (not going through my wirelessly connected laptop). Download station does an ok job but it has these issues:

not being able to download to the directory of my choosing
changing the name of the download file to download
not copying the extension of the file

These issues make an otherwise decent program unusable to me. IIs there a way of changing download station or is there another program I can use instead.
