Also try to enable IPv6 on your nas under Network and Switching

I added a picture example in my settings. This worked for me, BUT, I will say this: I only figured this out because I was looking at something else and realized my external ip address was an IPv6 (I went to https://www.whatismyip.com/ and found out) and then I remembered I had run into the IPv6 setting on the NAS trying to troubleshoot this problem and realized that I probably should enable IPv6 on the NAS).

Though I doubt you'll run into problems enabling it if you have an old IPv4 external address, I cannot guarantee that it will work! So don't hold me responsible!

EDIT: I spoke too soon. It worked exactly once, now I'm back to the same problem.

Well after much troubleshooting I figured my problem is with downloads from sites that require credentials. Bit Torrent works. https and http downloads which don't require credentials work. http and https downloads which require credentials are a no go.

Finally fixed it. Uninstalled, installed an older version I found somewhere here in the forums, then upgraded. For some reason, this did something that simply uninstalling it and installing it again wouldn't do.
