Download station new version just wiped my db!!!

Post by onesolo »

I just entered my Qnap, and then I got a notification that there was a new update to DS, v5.0.60
The minute I updated DS, I receive a new notification, a Warning, from DS that my database was rebuild due corruption. I got that notification too fast. So I did not understand what happened at that moment. When I entered DS, I then realized what really happened. I got a wipe of my downloads list!!! Nothing is listed on DS !!! This is unacceptable!!! I had some downloads that were not started and were very important!!!
The warning was "[DownloaStation] rebuild corrupted db"

Way to go Qnap!!! Clap Clap!!!

Same here! Bravo QNAP! Was very pleased with my cheap but convenient NAS... until now.
@CylonCenturion: Been looking for another download manager since I got my NAS but hesitated because I didn't want to start over. Where do I find Qtransmission? In the app center?

Not a nice update!

Did anyone that encountered this problem bother to open a ticket with QNAP to report it or just posted a rant?
Use the forum search feature before posting.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

Hmm, after what happened, I made two downloads. What happens if I install that previous version? I don't think I will get my previous download list, right ?!

Folks, just encountered the same issue, and managed to resolve it by SSHing into the NAS and doing:

Code: Select all

/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/DSv3/etc/init.d/dsd.sh reset
This just reset the Download Station and I can now log in and it seems to be mostly behaving itself. The only remaining issue is that it fails to start any downloads when using the BT search function. The same downloads start and run fine if I paste the Magnet link in myself.

Thanks jrb for that list - which one do I use for my TS-221?

As onesolo asked - do we get the uncorrupted download list back again?

Marvell ARM (TS-NASARM) is this one

Not sure about whether the list is restored as I wasn't seeding at the time.

x21 is marvel Kirkwood (also x19)
x31 is Coretx A9 (some by Annapurna Labs)

Normally their QPKG's are different
