i have tried searching various forums for a method to unrar files on completion in the Downloadstation app, but with no luck.
I cannot find a setting in the Downloadstation to do this, but what is the most common method to achieve this?

if there is no such option it can only achieved by:

- doing it manually
- requesting such function via support ticket
- writing your own watchdog function

OK, thanks for answering, strange there is no standard way to do this, it must be a fairly common request.

Do you know if there is a "On Complete" event from Diskstation that can trigger the script or what app/script can i use to make the watchdog function faster.

no clue..I dont use download station

I downloaded qBittorrent instead, which support running external programs on complete.
