Definitive Download Station Torrent Config?

Is anybody able to provide a definitive guide as to how to setup/configure Download Station?
I understand that you have to go to Settings -> Add-on, etc... and I recently tried https://github.com/dokkis/qnap-torrent-providers but alas no luck.
Unfortuantely, this forum's search results from 2110 Topics in 106 pages, doesn't really give any usable information as to how to definitively configure Download Station so that users can once again utilise previous capabilities of acquiring content from torrent providers.
ExtraTorrent seems to be the only one working, since when I disable this (briefly, for testing) no results are returned - what's the point of the others?
On reflection, maybe you have to now sign up and pay to be members of those sites?
Would appreciate any helpful feedback.
