The first time I use QNAP TS-101's BT function, it didn't work. I spent some time & effort to make it work. Currently I'm satisfied with its performance.

Hereunder I share some tips:

(1) Make sure u have set up the correct DNS information in your TCP/IP setting for your QNAP NAS. (becuase the QNAP NAS need to perform as a "client", it need to talk to trackers which are named as url, so correct DNS information must be set)

(2) enable UPnP port forwarding on QNAP NAS, and enable the "UPnP" on your NAT router. Or you can also manual forward the port on your NAT router. ex: define the port range 6500~6999 and you have to forward the same port range on your NAT router.

(3) best performance is to run 3 tasks concurrently. Let the tasks line up and do it one-by-one! I learned the same suggestion from other windows-based bittorrent applications. if u set 10 concurrently then u got slow speed.

(4) Everytime you change the setting, the bt client on QNAP NAS needs some time to re-calculate it. So if u see a drop of the speed after u change the setting, just stay tune. it takes some time to take off again.

u can visit bittorrent offecial website to do some test, try to download some free stuff to give it a shot. http://www.bittorrent.com
enjoy it.

Just one question ... what is the correct DNS information? I'm using a TS-100 behind a Netgear WGT624. Am I supposed to enter my ISP's DNS servers, or should I enter my router? And if it's my router: what is, in this case, the secondary DNS server? Thanks.

Just wonder, I used utorrent beefore I got the qnap, in the settings of utorrent you only need one port, why?

Another thing, the speed of one torrent is max. 6-600kbs when I have tree running at the same time its 3*5-600kbs little strange?

But on the other side i am very pleased with the possibility to run this little box and manage all my dowloads without any computers running, Im a big movie fan and this is awsome...
