Roku streaming - protect what content is available

Post by familyguy16 »

I am streaming from my TS251 to a Roku premiere device. The issue is the entire contents of my TS251 are available for viewing via the Roku. I only want there to be access to videos and music in particular folders. I am assuming this has something do with folder permissions however I only see options for folder user permissions. My roku didn't even require my nas password to connect so I'm not sure where to begin. Any help is greatly appreciated!

doubt the roku streams from SMB (even more doubtful with the lack of username and password)

what app are you using for the roku to play movies ?

It is a built in function of the Roku. The main menu offers selections like "photos, music, movies" listed among the apps such as Amazon, Netflix etc. When you select it, the first (and only) option is my NAS. When you select my nas bam it takes you right to all my content.

if the roku now supports dlna then you just need to adjust the dlna server folders on the qnap
