Hi,
I intend to buy a QNAP TVS-871 (8GB RAM) and use it mostly as a DLNA server and to backup some files of my phone and PC.
Can anyone confirm that Serviio 1.8 is running properly (with transcoding) on this NAS system.

Yes, Serviio will run fine. No problem at all. Do not rely on Qnap's own DLNA.

If subtitles are one of your concern, maybe better to look for a Synology.
