hard to say .. you could try a speedtest with a builtin browser

buying a 4port+ switch where you would connect the NAS and a (e.g.) fast HDR capable streaming device to, will cost you 15 bucks
Which one is the best and trouble free for you?

or is there any way to feed TV's usb iput from NAS lan output?
Thanks

No, there are USB3 1GbE LAN adapters but they will probably not work on those embedded TV OS systems

if it comes to unmanaged switches .. the cheapest will work just fine

https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Ethernet ... 00A128S24/

for player I'd use the nvidia shield (better support than the other units)

Hi I bought the switch already from a local shop. I am thinking now to buy the shield.

Do you by any chance know if Xbox One X or/PS4 Pro are better or similar Plex players, than the shield?

Thank you

Installing the Tp link gbit switch, Nas was able to push data on TV for direct 4k HDR movie playback.
Tv connected with wire there was buffering proving 100mb ethernet TV input is ancient tech.
Tv connected via power line AC1200 wi fi which was fed from the Gbit switch and with wi fi power line adapter placed in a power socket in 5 feet distance from its source mother adapter, 4k HDR playback was smooth without buffering. There was only an instance of severe buffering but it was caused by TV's plex player tryng to transcode 4k to 4k. The same movie accessed via wi fi from visible folder of my NAS through the network was playing by TV's media player without any issues and with HDR enabled. Nas showed to upload max 12 mb/s for smooth playback. This was enough even for a 87GB file rated at 100 mbits

Thanks

Was getting the same issue, my friend has suggested me to get a new cisco router to push my 4k content. I hope it works!

As dolbyman has suggested me, I bought a cheap but metal Gbit switch and a Nvidia Shield. Shield is awesome especially for Plex.

Plex interface and browsing movies is very smooth, shiny, responsive, faster and generally better than both X play and TV's Plex app.

Now my LG B7 will recognise Dolby Atmos and display its logo which I had only seen in Netflix content until now.

All HDR movies will play. Everything.

I hope in the near future Nvidia will support Dolby Vision too.

Qnap TVS 682 is a great media server but a bad media player with no support. HDMI 2.0 gets wasted sadly.

Thanks

Has anyone in the meantime been able to get this running?

Sorry should have been more precise. I have been reading through the thread - already a few times :)
Currently having a HS-251+ and intending to get a Panasonic HZW1004 4k TV. So I still don't know if KODI 19 is available on QNAP - and how many HDR formats are supported?
Or is KODI still not ready - and Plex is the way to go in the meantime?
