Twonky stops streaming

Hi there!
My twokey media worked fine - but since firmware upgrade its not anymore.
It has a strange behavior...its shown on the TV for 30 minutes than it stopps streaming and disappears. After some while (hours or days) it shows up again. On other devices its the same. Restarts didn’t help, reinstallations didn’t help, deleting the *.ini file didn‘t help! Rolled back 2 QTS versions didn’t help.

did you try reinstalling Twonky, since you tried 3 different firmware versions and it still didn't work?

Twonky 8.51 works here for me.

did you try reinstalling Twonky, since you tried 3 different firmware versions and it still didn't work?

since you have this: LOG_SYSTEM: file_lock_add : no free g_file_lock[]

try to remove that file, then rescan you files and try playing something different.

Everytime there is a firmware upgrade you have to re-enable it in Control Panel-DLNA Media Server-Enable Twonky Media Server

the option in Admin Panel is the built in Twonky Server (8.3.x afaik) which is not the same a Twonky 8.5.1 which is a QPKG (and separate License) and not part of the QTS firmware settings.

For me after last firmware (867) update DLNA is not working at all. All magically disappeared on all my TVs and I did nothing in any configuration. Anybody has the same problem?

do you have two lan interfaces with different IP addresses on your NAS? Twonky usually defaults to the interface that has the default gateway set to it. try your other interface ip with port 9000 on the end of the URL.

.....and after a while fresh install twonky is gone again :(

I didn't know that twonky is no longer free! :shock: :shock: . I have the same problems that I read here, it's been over a year since my twonky doesn't work on my QNAP and I didn't understand I tried everything and nothing worked and the sad part is that I I even gave up listening to my music on my NAS because some of my multimedia players only work with Twonky.
Yesterday, I installed the trial version yesterday on their site (it is well explained) and everything works as before and in a few days I will buy the license. It is important to know
It's still a shame that QNAP has not officially informed us of this change.

QNAP did ..years ago when they did the change (no more free twonky for new devices)

old devices still have a free twonky version (as already mentioned above)
